One of my favorite things that we do in my classroom is our Monday Class Meeting. Here is a brief description of a typical Monday Meeting, as taken from my maternity sub plans!
For Monday's Class Meeting, we start with sharing personal victories and by choosing our Leaders of the Day. Then, we spend time reflecting on mission statements or another habit, going over our WIG goals for the week, and follow that up by completing the Peek At My Week form. Students should be given time to fill out the form and discuss their week with their accountability partners, and then share out.
I LOVE the Peek at My Week form! My students are able to plan out their week with their "Big Rocks," or most important things for our class. We start by learning all about how Big Rocks are non-negotiable things that we all want to accomplish in the week. Students can even add in other Big Rocks, such as working on their WIGs (Wildly Important Goals), spending time with family, etc.
