Summer is definitely the easiest time of the year to make some life changes. It's my favorite time to reorganize my house, my school "stuff," and start some new healthy routines. This summer we have a lot of positive things to look forward to. We have some weddings, we are planning on spending a lot of time with family and friends, and we are even going on a trip to Mexico later this summer with two of our closest friends. I can't wait for the beach, and I feel like I've definitely earned some relaxation time after this past month! My husband and I both eat healthier in the summer too, mostly because I'm home to go grocery shopping during the day (which might be on my top favorite things to do ever list) and I can plan healthy meals for us both. We've stopped eating carbs (except for tortillas..I just can't resist them), and I've been working out for an hour each day. I stopped working out when I was pregnant (on doctor's orders due to some issues early in the pregnancy not related to the miscarriage) and it felt SO GOOD to be running again. I forgot how exhilarating it feels to just run and forget your problems for a while. I also love waking up with my husband in the morning and make him coffee and his lunch. I know it sounds kind of lame, but I like taking care of him like that. It's also the only time I get to see him in the mornings since I usually leave before he wakes up during the school year. One of these days I'll stop getting to school at 7:00 AM...but not just yet. :) Are you starting any new summer routines | Our chalkboard in the kitchen needed an update. :) |
