Now that I'm off for the summer, I've been able to do some of my favorite things. Organizing, cruising the clearance section at Target, and browsing Pinterest definitely top the list, but I've also found time to listen to my favorite musical show tunes (nerd alert).
There is something about musicals that make my heart happy and full. I love a world where people burst into song for no apparent reason at all. There is something so innocent about it...even in the more serious musicals. I still get goosebumps when I hear, "One Day More" from Les Miserables even though I've heard that song 1,000 times.
So yesterday, I was listening to Rent, which happens to be on my not-as-much-of-a-favorite musical list (I know, musical theatre junkies, but it just doesn't rock my world as much as other shows). I was listening to "Another Day," and the following lyrics really resonated with me:
Forget regret
Or life is yours to miss.
No other road
No other way
No day but today."
