I am so excited to meet you! This year is going to be challenging for both of us! We have many exciting new adventures in the year ahead, and I can't wait to get started! I hope you are too!
This year we have a brand new curriculum. We will be using all new materials, and sometimes, it might get confusing. We may notice that our new math books are harder, and that we might not finish everything that we need to finish during our day. That's okay. Sometimes, I might even get mixed up, but I promise to always do my best to help you learn.
I promise to never give up on you, even when you want to give up yourself. I promise to be creative in my teaching, even if it means looking silly. I promise to always be myself and to show you that it is okay to make mistakes. I promise to greet you with a smile and a handshake each morning and make our classroom fun. I promise to make sure our classroom is a safe place where you can push yourself as a learner. A place where you can be yourself. A place where you will belong.
I know that there will be tough days ahead of us. There will be days where you or I might not feel our happiest, and that is okay. Together we will persevere and learn, and we will do our best to make the most out of each day.
I promise to accept you for exactly who you are. I promise to learn about your likes and dislikes, the sports or games you play, and your hopes and dreams. I promise to help you reach your goals and encourage you always.
I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember and over the years I have taught over 600 incredible students. I still keep these promises for those students even though they are growing up. I want you to know I will always be here for you, even when you are growing up too. You are a part of our classroom family, and I am so lucky to be your teacher this year.
It is going to be a fantastic year!
Love,
Mrs. T.
